BBC Stopwatch

Whilst not likely to be a primary piece of broadcast production equipment found in a WTBS studio, these production stopwatches were part of a producers tools for the job, so may have been taken with them when they took up their role in one of the Civil Defence Region bunkers.

Measuring 62mm in diameter, they were made for the BBC by Swiss watchmaker Heuer with a CWC mechanism.

Whether they were given individually to BBC producers or formed part of a department's production equipment is not known.

They were used in radio and television production to tiime audio and video "clips", packages and programme run times.

The serial number was on the reverse.
